The last 15th October 2015, continuing with the demonstrations of integrated crop protection in the LIFE AGROintegra Project, visits were made to the parcels of borage, chard and thistle managed by Ultracongelados Virto. Borage was found at the time of harvesting.
The GIP strategies used in borage and chard have been the use of pheromones by mass trapping for lepidoptera. In the case of borage, biofungicides for powdery mildew and bioinsecticides for lepidoptera and aphids were also used. The campaign has been successful, despite very high pest levels.
Bioinsecticides for lepidoptera and aphids have been used in thistle. One of the biggest challenges currently facing this crop is the control of powdery mildew.
